Swiss Fishing Championships for Youth concludes with a world record!

The attendees of the annual Swiss Fishing Championships for Youth have built the world’s longest fishing rod with a length of 22.45m (app. 73.65ft).

This was a huge teamwork and a successful world record attempt to get into the Guinness book of records.

Every fishing trip has his special moments and a lot of new photos. Normally there are showing the pleasant photos only. But what’s happen with all the others? Where are they going? A small selection from 2010 is here:

Morels – the finest spring mushroom

Spring is quite ready certain delicate things for us. Fine mushrooms – especialy morels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morchella). The warm temperatures and a little rain last week have driven them out of the ground.

You can find the morels near the wather – in the shrubs and between the trees on the river banks. It hasn’t many and you need a lot of time to pick up the morels. Pick up? Ok, to pick up is simple if you have found one, but to find is the difficulty.

Example: This picture is taken by standing upright and normaly showing. It has a morel in this picture. You can see them between the brown leaves and the green plants?

No? No problem i can help you. Look into the border…

The first morel of the year is the hardest to find one. With the first mushroom your brain have the possibility to remember and to set the focus of the eyes on the pattern. All other morels are much easier to find…

Spring is definitly arrived!

We have had our first summer day last sunday. Summer day at the thirth day of april? Yes – very early in the year but it was a nice sunny day and the temperature rise over 25°C (over 77° F) .

I have had a good fishing day at the narrow canal du Fully. Try fly fishing for trouth in a clear, small creek

with flowery cherry, apple, pear and magnolia trees in the valley and the white alps in the background. What toes it takes more to relaxing an have a good time?

A little bit more spring: I have a magnolia tree in front of my house. This tree is annualy flowering during two or tree days only. Troughout this flowering days it is bearing by hunderts of violet, pink and white colored flowers and is looking like a single big flower ball

The other spring flowers are the forsythia shrubs with the yellow flowers. Here is the full bloom forsythia near by the outdoor grill:

And - it smells! It has a wunderfull and intensive flower parfume in the air when you step out of the house. Spring smell. Spring is definitly arrived in Switzerland!
